We're coming out...sort of...

Ryan, Norah and I have had miserable colds (flu?) since Saturday. Today is Ryan's first day back at work (he telecommuted for the past couple of days) and things are beginning to return to normal. What a slow process - at least Emerson has been spared! Although he has had to live wtih some very grumpy relatives... :-)

Mom, I am so tired of pictures and I'm only a month old!

Carmen made Norah and Emerson a bunch of beautiful new sweaters. This is just one of the plenty - Norah is loving wearing it today. Thank you, Grandma!
Unfortunatly she refuses to smile and look at the camera, but I'm hoping that is a phase that will pass. :-) This morning on Sesame Street there was an opera singer performing a song from the Bizet opera, Carmen - I told Norah the name of the opera, and that it was the same as her Grandma's name. Then Elmo appeared dressed as a bullfighter to sing with the opera singer...Norah told me that he was Grandpa Lyman. I laughed so hard!
And, BTW, what a strange music choice for children's programming...

A big girl first

Tonight is Norah's first in her big girl bed. All things considered, it went pretty smoothly! She spent about a half hour piling everything she could find on the bed with her, including books and animals. We moved most of them off after she fell asleep, but you can see what remains. And check out the sleep position she finally decided on - I guess my worries about her falling off the bed are unfounded. :-) She's my little sweetheart!

A busy day

We had quite the action packed day, in our little world. This morning we went to meet a friend at Starbucks (sad, she was sick, but we stayed and enjoyed hot drinks!). Then ran errands, headed to Grammie Peggy'd for scrapbooking, back home for dinner, then back out to Aunt Laurie's for a Stampin' Up camp taught by Aunt Lynne! Whew, am I tired. I love naked babies.
And babies dressed as bears.
Learning to scrap from Gramma.
Aunt Lynne takes a turn with Emerson!
Campers with their projects
ooooh....look what Gramma made! She's a pro!
As usual, Solomon was ADORABLE!
Emerson finally fell asleep with Grandpa. :-)

Its a "little tea party".

Per Norah! She used her fun chinca tea set for an apple juice and raisin tea party. Yum!

As you can see, Jones was hoping for a stray raisin to come his way...

Visiting Aunt Kaye

This afternoon we played at Aunt Kaye's house for a few hours, then enjoyed a yummy lunch at Red Robin. Fun! Emerson had lots of cuddle time with his Auntie and Norah chatted away. :-)

Storytime after a long time

This morning we visited storytime for the first time in many months. Norah has graduated to an older age class and this was her first time there. The librarian was SO great - we had tons of fun. In addition to reading stories, we sang, danced, had a craft and then playtime. Mom came ot help me baby wrangle - I was able to do crafts, etc. with Norah while Emerson and Grammie hung out.

Making a fish tank for Grammie
Grammie and Emrson, watching the big kids play
Big yawn in the big hat that Grammie made. It may be a while before he fits in it!
Everyone should have a giant worm to play with!
Norah had a set of Curious George stickers that she put on everyone - including Emerson's cheek. :-) Check out the adorable blanket that Mom made for emerson - its nice and heavy, as well as cute!

PJs

Daddy and Disney

This afternoon Norah, Emerson and I met Ryan for lunch at Lloyd Center. We took our new stroller out for the adventure and it works so well. Many thanks to Grandma Carmen and Grandpa Lyman for the gift! Norah is happy to sit or stand in the back - or to hold on to the side handle and walk with us. Emerson was only awake for a few short minutes then passed out in his seat for the rest of the afternoon.

So sassy, so cool. :-)

Emerson Smiles

Today was Emerson's first smile! I kept moving in and out of his eyesight (a slow-motion game of peek-a-boo) and he began with small smiles then moved to the huge grin! Carrying the digital camera in my pocket paid off, as I was able to capture him in action :-)

Take the camera away from me!

Whoa! Why does my momma keep taking my picture??
Norah let me braid her hair today - we
made her into a scandinavian girl. :-)

First Family Outing

We took everyone to OMSI, so Norah could get her wiggles out! Emerson, sleeping as we leave the house...
Look related?
Stringing beads
chikeemunk explorer
An interesting puppet show - there was a lot of puppet tossing
...and Emerson, sleeping as we get ready to head home. He slept the entire time in the sling - wish it was this easy at bedtime!

Hand-me-downs

Poor Emerson...this is what happens when you spit up all over your own blankets and have to use one of your big sister's. We promise not to make him wear her clothes.

Naptime

Ahhh..if mom will just keep letting us come over once a week for naptime, I may be able to keep some semblance of sanity...

Norah is a natural on Kodiak's board!

Emerson reads with his uncle and keeps his eyes on Grandma.

Take a Picture

Apparently I say this too often, because now this is Norah's new favorite saying. She'll pose herself then tell me to take a picture! This is one of her requests...She has her good buddies, Brigitte and Franklin.

Once there was a Snowman

Ryan helped Norah build her first snowman this afternoon! pat, pat, pat
a little more here...
and, tada!!
A snowman!
This time we enticed her back inside with hot chocolate. :)

Brrr...Snow Day!

This morning Norah woke up to... ...snow outside her window!
She couldn't wait to go outside and play in it.

This is the face of a girl telling her momma not to make her go inside...I finally lured her in with promises of hot apple cider.
Although Emerson didn't play in the snow, he did dress in appreciation of it. ;-) He is practicing his boxing moves in this pic.
