Trunk or Treat!

Emerson's first Halloween - can you guess which trick-or-treater in this pic ate the candy??
Emerson, with Norah in the background. Too bad for Ryan when Emerson wanted to run around - that ended Ryan's candy hustling. :-)
We went to a trunk-or-treat at the nearby LDS church. Everyone had made fun Halloween displays in the backs of their minivans (ok, there where a few other cars there) and one guy donned a tuxedo and had a table full of fun, non-candy treats!
Emerson REALLY wanted to touch everyone's tires
Norah snuck in a few trick-or-treats in our neighborhood as well.

Emerson is 10 months!

What a month for Emerson! He has learned so many things! This month he is signing dog, more and all done. In addition, he is begining to speak Spanish. OK. just kidding about that. But he really does seem to pick up new things every day. He RUNS everywhere and loves to inspect everything with buttons - the electronic variety. He had a great time at Disneyland, evening during the longs days when I was sure he would pass out from sleepiness. He also enjoyed our trips to the pumpkin patche and trick-or-treating!

Pumpkin Carving

Norah hammered her pumpkin this year (think Lightbrite, for children of the '80s) - easy to do by herself.

The finished products!

Two months of ballet

I was so skeptical of how much a not-quite-three-year-old could learn, but the children in Norah's ballet/tap class are begining to do things that offically look like dance! :-) Its a 3-4 year old class and they are the best age to watch - everyone has their own quirky style of movement! Norah has settled in and is spending less time admiring herself in the mirror and running in circles around the class (although she does still enjoy that now and again). Last night I asked her to show me one of her moves and she corrected my French pronounciation. LOL

The Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we went to The Pumpkin Patch on Sauvie Island (we visited this patch last year as well). It's a great pumpkin extravaganza and it sure was busy! It took us a half hour to get there, but two hours to get home. I guess everyone loves this patch. We visited farm animals, picked pumpkins, rode a cowtrain and hayride, had lunch and Norah even went through a hay maze. Whew!
The hayride out to pick out pumpkins ~ On the hayride back Norah serenaded the crew with Christmas carols.
Riding the cow train with Ryan and Emerson in front and Norah and I in back. Bumpy and fun - if we ever have a farm we will have to build our own cow train!

We (I) forgot Emerson's shoes, but had an extra pair of Norah's tennys in the car. Emerson tried his best to stagger around in a size and a half too large! Not easy in a maze of pumpkins and vines.

Storytime with Miss Holly

All about dogs this week!
Norah has really been loving the one-on-one time we have at storytime. She also is a fan of Miss Holly, the librarian - Miss Holly really gets into the tellin' of the stories.

Carson's Birthday!

Our nephew Carson celebrated his birthday with a man-party at an outdoor paintball setup...he looks pretty tough!
Ryan came home telling tales of how he made all the younger kids cry. He sort of got into the experience. :-) hmmmm...I wonder if they will invite him back?

Sophie and Sara's 2nd Birthday!

Happy Birthday!
Solomon and Isabelle, waiting for cupcakes
The Ellis' family friend Meg made littles cakes for each of the girls and Solomon helped decorate with sprinkles. He made sure the entire top was covered, to the delight of Sara. She meticulously ate the frosting sprinkle layer off the top. :-)

Fall Festival

Every year the Pomeroy House, a historic living farm, has a fall festival. This is our second year Mom and I took the kids (ok, last year Emerson enjoyed the view from my bellybutton). We love the animals and the hayride!

Lewisville Park

Impromptu picnic at Lewisville Park - cold, but fun!

mmm...can I eat these??

Norah found her own marshmallow stick - we actually made it work!

My mom hates having her hair touched, but Emerson thinks its the funniest thing. She's a good grandma - if any of the rest of this tried this, she'd give us a swift kick.
