Little Drummer Girl

Kodiak participated in his last Winter Drumline Competition on Saturday - we picked him up afterwards. Norah loves the drums and was VERY happy to play with his drum sticks.

Kodiak is on the far right of the platform - playing the steel drums! Their show was based around Super Mario, hence the funny costumes...at one point you can hear Kodiak yell "Itsa Mario!" in his authentic Italian accent. :-)

Three Months Old!

Emerson turned three months old today! He is such a little character. He loves watching Norah and Jones play and he smiles HUGELY when Ryan wanders into his sight. He is sitting (propped, of course) very well and we just put him into the excersaucer - which he really enjoyed. He can also sit forward facing in the front pack and that has made our outings much more fun. What a little guy! This is the outfit he wore home from the hospital...you can see how much he has grown!! The pic above is from today and below are from the 2nd of January.

Esther Short Park

This is Norah's first time in a big kid swing. She was very proud of herself. :-) She is working on the pumping part, too!

This slide gave me a heart attack, but I tried to be a good sport and let Norah have fun on it. It took a lot of will power, I was sure she was going to nosedive. :-)

A first!

Every day brings something new with the two little ones and today it was...Emerson's first day in jeans! :-) He is such a giant, he fits into a 6 month size (jeans courtesy of Ian Sevey). He looked so cute - no bias, of course!

Who can resist baby-in-a-bucket? Not me.

Country Drive

Today we picked up Great Grandma and Grandpa and took them on a drive through the country, to see the blooming trees and flowers. We then stopped by my mom's home for lunch - she made a delicious homemade soup and bread.
Norah insisted on wearing a princess dress for the day (one she picked out) and her glass slippers (the ruby red shoes from her Dorothy Halloween costume). She has only seen Cinderella once! She is such a character. Emerson screamed all morning and I was worried we would have to cancel our plans. However, he was an angel the minute I strapped him into his carseat. Great Grandma sat in the back with him and he cooed and smiled away. Yay!

Wearing Great Grandpa's hat - all the kids try to steal his hats!

When it came time to leave lunch, Norah decided she was staying with Grammie...so she ended up having a sleepover. It was nice to have some one-on-one time with Emerson for the rest of the day, although our home was very quiet without Miss Norah.

lambs - what might have been!

A day late...Ian on Saturday and Norah on Sunday...

A case of the sillies

Lambing season in Corvallis

Today we travelled down to our favorite town, Corvallis, to visit Gramma and Grandpa Skogen, the Blinns AND baby lambs. The OSU sheep barns are open to visitors during lambing season, so we took advantage of the opportunity to check them out. Too cute! Joyce is still recovering from her foot surgery, but she was a great hostess and even managed to make dinner for ten (wow). It was a beautiful, enjoyable day - thank you!

Emerson was happy and smiley the entire trip - he even snoozed through dinner so I had both hands to each. :-) What a champ!

Strider, the great hunting dog

Carson and Dillon even came along - don't know how excited they were about lambing, but they were good sports!

Norah seemed to enjoy the big sheep more than the babies...

I asked Norah to smile in front of the sheep family, and she had to stand by each one for a pic. :-) She had so much fun on our trip!

Saturday

A walk to the coffee shop - Norah rode in the wagon with Daddy and Emerson sat in the front pack with me. Jonesy took turns running with all...Quick visit with our great grandparents this morning...
Grandma shared a snow globe that both Norah and Tom-Tom were fascinated with. Norah loves Tom, but we have found out she is allergic to cats. Unfortunatly, she can only visit with him for a little bit! She did manage to find the treat cupboard and give him 5-6 treats while we were that. :-)

Norah scams a ride again!!

A few days...

Playing a bit of catch up for our week! Emerson slept outside of our room for the first time this week. I believe he is sleeping better, but I am on edge listening for any noises. After this becomes routine, I imagine we'll both have better nights. He has also beeing "talking" up a storm. He coos and coos, especially in the mornings. We went to storytime at Barnes and Noble at Lloyd Center on Thursday - it was much smaller than the one we usually go to at the library, but Norah really likes the trains. The added benefit - Ryan can walk over from work to meet us for lunch!

Craft time - painting Thomas the Tank Engine
Play time - Emerson has been kicking at the toys on his play mat and rolling back and forth. He is a regular at rolling from tummy to back, but is still working on the opposite.
We stopped for lunch and to play at McDonalds (or Old MacDonalds, as its known at our place). We generally try to avoid fast food for Norah. When she saw where we were going, she said "We are having sneaky food". That cracked me up so I asked her where she had heard that and she said "Daddy likes sneaky food". That REALLY cracked me up. :-)
Emerson was ready for a nap!
Shameless logo placement - Norah was really brave about climbing through the tubes and going down the slides.
Enjoying the warm weather
