Beautiful Baby Josie

My brother Neil, his wife Danelle, and their sweet little baby, Josephine, came to visit for a few days. This is the first time I have met my adorable niece and we were so excited! She is the spitting image of Dannelle! We met up at Kodiak's winter drumline show, then went over to my mom's house.

Believe it or not, Norah is not eating Josie's nose, this is a kiss...

Kodiak is in the front, center!
Norah was too excited to see all the percussion instruments. She even recognized the tubular bells, which cracked me up.
Neil was in the drumline all through HS - he had to play around a little, and introduce Dannelle and Josie to his old band teacher (he still teaches at the HS).

Family Friday

Norah and Emerson needed some time away from home (as did I!) so we made a quick trip to OMSI to play. Emerson enjoyed watching all the kids play - its fun to see him engaging in new ways.

This evening we had Family Night and made fingerpaint artwork!

Emerson supervised - however, we kept him out of reach from his painty sister.

Storytime Traditions

Its becoming a tradition for Emerson and Grammie to snuggle in the big purple chair during storytime. They both look pretty happy!

After story time we play for a bit in the children's section of the library. Norah really enjoys the huge caterpillar and hopscotch mat. She also spent some time "snuggling" with the big frog. :)

Running to the bus stop to meet daddy!

Catch Up

Last week we spent some time at my mom's house, while Ryan was out of town for work. Norah and Emerson had lots of fun playing with each other and with Grammie.
Grammie showed Norah how to play her flute - such a fun treat!

What a natural - I think most flute players prefer the "mouth hole up the nose" technique...

Ouch

Norah fell on her face and hurt her nose (while under her father's supervision, she never falls when I am watching, of course ;-)) and needed a Shrek bandaid to help her feel better. Didn't know bandaids could help teh nose, but apparently they work.

Stylin'

The cute little outfit that Gramma Joyce made for Norah! She was so excited to try it on, when we pulled into the driveway from lunch she tried to sit on the front porch and change! Happy clapping...thank you, Gramma!

Chevy's

We met Gramma and Grandpa Skogen for lunch today, while they were in town for Joyce's doctor appt. Norah was overdue for her naptime, so she was slightly crazed and overstimulated - but thrilled to see her grandparents. Gramma brought an adorable outfit that she made for all the girls in the family. I'll take pcis after naptime!

Bath Time

Emerson is big enough that I can put him in the same tub as Norah - makes bathtime much easier and a lot more fun for both of them. :-) Emerson hates it for the first 5 seconds (literally) then decides its the best thing ever. Cute!
Norah is pretty happy to use his part of the tub, too - then I have time to dry off Emerson!

Sunny Sunday

This afternoon was so nice - sunny and mild - I took Norah and Emerson for a walk~

Emerson's first ride in the front pack - he loved looking around. Usually he hangs out in the sling and snoozes. It was neat to watch him taking everything in. :-)

Norah's off on an "adventure" as she says. There is no slowing her down!

Some stylin' dance moves in her dancing slippers

All about Emerson

Emerson has been such a happy little guy lately - he grins at everything! He's even laughed out loud a few times...so cute! Grandma Carmen sent Emerson his first collegiate sweater - it looks like she wants him to go to UCLA - much closer to where she lives. :-)
He's contsantly chewing on his hands, when he's able to get them near his face

Go Beavs!
Looks like he's gonna follow the family tradition of a lineman...
Grammy Peggy snuck in this pic, and they look so sweet!
Don't let this happy face fool you - he's usually only happy when the car is moving! Which means that stoplights are horrible. :-)
