A Busy Week

Norah and Emerson have been so good during our odd schedule with Grandma and Grandpa. They are so sweet! Emerson likes to sit up and look around in his stroller

Norah loves to sing - songs she has learned, songs that she has made up - everything!
She's learned most og the insturments in an orchestra and likes to pretend to play them. She was so thrilled to play the piano at Grandma and Grandpa's.

We met our friend Michelle at Starbucks last week - all the kids love her!

New Friends

Norah made new friends at story time today. She is going back to her outgoing style - we met a cute set of sisters that are about the same age difference and Norah and Emerson. Grammie Peggy played with Emerson while Norah and I played games and made crafts (or craps, as Norah pronounces them). Its one of our favorite activities of the week.
Norah tried to go to story time in my three inch heeled boots - with the zipper undone, they looked like pirate boots on her. :-)

Today we kept Great Grandma company for a while...

Off to church

So happy to see Uncle Kodiak! (and doesn't he look handsome in his suit??!)
Of course, Norah's sweater is one of Grandma Carmen's fabulous creations!
Emerson and I went to Grammie Peggy's house to pick up Norah after church.

Norah pulled her little bench over by Kodiak and found a book of her own to read. :-)

Alberta Park

It was such a nice day, we had to head to the park! Norah has grown a lot in the past year (Check out her last pic by the sign)
This is how Emerson spent his first trip to Alberta Park - snuggled and warm.
Norah always wants to hold Jones' leash, and Jones always wants to escape :)
Oooh, this slide looks fun...

...until she tried this one! There is a big sign on the side that I didn't notice till she had been down it a couple of times. CAUTION: Not recomended for small children

Ryan really enjoyed it - the curves were too short for his height :-)
Such glee!!

Valentines/50s Dance

Ryan, Norah, Emerson and I attended a 50s dance at our nephew, Carson's elementary school. Ryan's sister Lynne made all the decorations and her husband Todd and our other nephew Dillon were the djs. It was really fun to see them in action!

Emerson is a party animal - he was raring to go

Norah and Auntie Lynne. Norah wore her dancing clothes - our closest version of a poodle skirt and cashmere cardigan. Of course to Norah, it was a tutu. :-)

Thinking about dancing....
And now she shows us her stuff - a little bit of head-shaking Apparently she's not shy and my-oh-my does she have some moves.
She ran around and around, through dancing couples. We knew she was tired when she started laying prone on the floor and resting. This was smack dab in the middle of the dance floor.
Auntie Lynne gave Norah a special Valentines box full of priness gear - here you can see her tiara, gloces, earrings and the NEAT box to store everything in. Sweet!

Emerson is happiest when naked. Just makes him more munchable!

Happy Valentines Day!

Norah and Daddy, on his way to work. Norah is sporting her Valentines shirt that professes her "Daddy's Girl" status. She made a special card for Ryan several days ago and helped me pick out some fun animal chocolates for him. We also gave him a framed pic of Emerson and Norah, for his office at work.
Opening her Valentines basket this morning. She is very excited about the barrettes and in fact had me put all 8 of them in her hair (you can kind of see them in the first pic).
Pretty dessert! Mom made Norah and me a delicious Valentines lunch. We enjoyed chicken ceaser salads and the dessert above. Norah was so excited to have her own mini-cupcake and candle. Anything with sweets and fire is a hit. It was all very beautiful, fun and delicious! Thank you, Mom!
The tablescape was very pretty - all red and silver!
Emerson supervised the meal... He smiled away at Grammie for the first part, then demanded that he have his lunch as well. You can see Jonesy lurking around, hoping for a crumb. :-)
Grammie even made Norah her favorite mac and cheese dish - now this is a happy camper.
Norah and Emerson gave Kodiak a little Valentines treat, but it looks like Norah is sneaking bites...
Lest you worry that I forgot about little Emerson, I did try. However, he wasn't very cooperative with the photos. As you can see. :-) Grammie Peggy ended up with the better shots! You'll have to check out her blog.

2 years, 2 months

Norah and Emerson went in for their two year and two month (respectively!) well-checks today. Although the immunizations were miserable, we managed to leave with smiles on. N and E are so different - Norah is in the 11th percentile for weight, 45th for height, while Emerson is in the 90th for weight - and he is off the charts for his height! Their pediatrician said that Norah's language skills are incredibly advanced and that Emerson has the strength of a three month old (I know, I know - three month olds are incredibly strong). LOL, I am such a proud mommy. Now that Norah is a TWO YEAR OLD, she gets to wear a hospital gown during her visits to the doctor, instead of running around in a diaper. This is especially exciting, as she has seen great-grandpa wearing one for the past several days.
